URUGUAY

Planting footprints of hope in Uruguay

Plantatón Uruguay successfully closed its collective crowdfunding campaign that allowed 1,111 native trees to be planted and cared for in Punta del Diablo Public Park, an area affected by fires, in January 2021. The campaign raised $16,674 thanks to contributions from 152 people from 14 countries and 5 companies, exceeding the initial goal of acquiring 1,000 trees.

Save Galapagos and Empower its People

Galapagos, the planet's living laboratory, is home to 9,000 unique species and 35,000 humans. COVID19 caused a complete cessation of tourism putting livelihoods and nature at risk. Throughout the crowdfunding campaign, carried out between November2020 and August2021, 208 local stakeholder has been supported, through activities related to “cash for work” for beach cleaning and “cash for training” for training on digital tools for small business.
