In 2019, the Global Goals App was pre-installed in Samsung phones. The app allowed young people to learn about SDGs. The app also included a donation mechanism to fund UNDP initiatives. Cohorts have now been created to provide young leaders with mentorship and networking opportunities with UNDP issue experts. The young leaders also benefit from networking with each other. Technical support is also provided. UNDP supports the young leaders by finding advocacy opportunities in various processes and fora for them to engage with and to highlight their work. The first cohort of 4 youth leaders was established in 2020. A second cohort was assembled in 2021 with 4 youth leaders. The participants were selected on basis of leaders who are already working on SDG related issues, in countries unlikely to receive support. |
| Heart17 | https://heart17.com/ | Global initiative focused on generating advocacy and impact on the 17 SDGs in partnership with Heart 17, a social startup, with the support of progressive businesses and brands. The Heart 17 platform includes videos of young leaders discussing causes relating to climate change, mental health, and governance among others. Through a petition-style platform viewers can get information, donate, and engage with social media. The platform will have a positive narrative in order to empower young people. | 16x16 | https://www.youth4peace.info/ | Initiative spotlights and supports 16 youth advocates and leaders in advancing SDG 16. The youth advocates collaborate with UNDP's Youth Global Programme. Each youth advocate represents a geographically and thematically diverse organisation, movement or network. They focus on different but overlapping SDG16 targets. Platform identifies advocacy space for cohort - youth advocates participated in the 2019 Preparatory Conference for the HLPF on SDG16, in Rome. A blog series has been developed for each youth advocate to highlight their work. The youth advocates also collaborate with UNDP in joint webinars and consultations. |
| Global Coalition on Youth Peace and Security | The Global Coalition on Youth, Peace and Security | Youth4Peace Portal | The Global Coalition on Youth, Peace and Security (GCYPS) is the leading platform for shaping global policy and practice on youth, peace, and security. The GCYPS facilitates exchange, coordination, and collaboration between more than 70 organizations from civil society, including youth-led and youth-focused organizations, UN entities, donors, academia and inter-governmental bodies. The GCYPS is co-chaired by the United Network of Young Peacebuilders (UNOY Peacebuilders), Search for Common Ground (SFCG) and the United Nations (Peacebuilding Support Office – PBSO and United Nations Population Fund – UNFPA). The objective of the GCYPS is to strengthen youth participation in peacebuilding policy and practice. The GCYPS is a platform for member organizations to: Support policy and programmatic efforts in the field of youth, peace and security; Enable partnerships between youth, multilateral, governmental and civil society actors; Generate collective knowledge on youth, peace and security; Monitor progress and measure the impact of the implementation of UN Security Council Resolutions 2250 (2015) and 2419 (2018); Advocate for young people’s meaningful and inclusive participation in policy-making at the global, regional and national levels. |

| Mission 1.5 | Mission 1.5 (mission1point5.org) | Using mobile gaming technology, Mission 1.5 educates people about climate solutions and asks them to vote on the actions that they want to see happen. The votes will then be compiled and analyzed by researchers at the University of Oxford before being delivered to government leaders and climate policymakers. Results will be compiled and presented by gender, age, and country. Using randomized samples, the global results will reflect how accurately people voted in each country. In this way Mission 1.5 will allow policymakers to gain vital insights into global perceptions about climate action. UNDP team used gaming app to reach a wide, pop-culture, mainstream audience. | Voices and perspectives of civil society on the gendered dimensions of violent extremism and counterterrorism responses: Report (Global digital consultation) | Gendered-dimensions-of-violent-extremism-Outcome-report-en.pdf (unwomen.org) | The Gender Working Group of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Coordination Compact organized the global digital consultation on “Voices and perspectives of civil society on the gendered dimensions of violent extremism and counterterrorism responses”, from 25 May to 5 July 2020, funded by the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre in the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism. The consultation was open to civil society participants, including independent women’s/women-led civil society organizations (CSOs), CSOs with strong credentials as gender equality advocates, and independent women’s human rights and gender equality activists. More than 140 civil society representatives from 43 countries across the world participated in the consultation. The consultation provided a safe space for civil society participants to express their views, challenges, and recommendations on the gendered dimensions of terrorism and violent extremism, and on the impact that current measures to prevent violent extremism and counter terrorism have on their work and rights. Views and recommendations from civil society were gathered in a public statement developed by civil society members. A series of technical publications were also produced, including an outcome report and regional analytical papers highlighting issues specific to key regions represented in the consultation. |

The report and its methodology centralize the experiences of local civil society, in particular women-led civil society organizations (CSOs) who contributed to the report through interviews, dialogues, and case study profiles. The research emphasizes the necessity of integrated, multi-stakeholder approaches that enable state and civil society to work in tandem, based on the comparative advantages of each. |

| Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers’ Core and Advisory Group | Peacemakersnetwork | The Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers was established in January 2013 by the initiative of United Nations Mediation Support Unit (MSU) to encourage entities that work with these peacemakers to increase their cooperation, develop together better mechanisms for support and provide advice for United Nations entities when suitable.
