Staff
UNDP personnel are recruited both locally and internationally and fall into one of three categories.
General staff: Provide essential support to UNDP’s work and are recruited locally from the area in which an office/duty station is located. These include clerical support and building maintenance positions.
Professionals: Provide the expertise needed to drive UNDP’s mission forward and are generally recruited internationally. These include programme and communication specialists.
Directors: Provide the management, leadership and vision to carry out our goals, whether supervising teams within a bureau, an office or a unit.
Each category is ranked by grade, depending on the experience. For international (P) positions, the below years of requirements relate to holders of a Masters or equivalent. At times, holders of Bachelor or equivalent may apply for P positions, in which case 2 additional years of experience need to be added to the below requirements.
