The tenth session of the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD-10) is jointly organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) in collaboration with the African Union Commission, the African Development Bank and the United Nations system organisations.

The Forum is taking place at UNECA Conference Center, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 23 to 25 April 2024, in a hybrid format, allowing online participation.

• Regional Collaborative Platform for Africa Dialogue on carbon markets and development

  22 April: How to manage the political resistance and other internal gaps limiting the workings of the market instruments? How to boost market integrity, increase price for carbon, reduce market fragmentation? What will be the effects of Article 6 (6.2) on the extant voluntary carbon markets? What does Africa need to do to take advantage of, and benefit optimally from the market? • Africa launch of the 2023-2024 Human Development Report

  22 April: The Africa regional launch of the 2023/24 Human Development Report (HDR) titled 'Breaking the Gridlock: Reimagining cooperation in a polarized world' is taking place on 22 April 2024, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in the sidelines of the 10th Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development. This follows the global launch of the report, on 13 March, 2024 and subsequent country-level launch events. The launch event is taking place at UNECA, from 17:30 to 19:00. Learn more.
