Understanding corruption’s linkages to gender equality issues and how it impacts women’s empowerment is part of the process of advancing women’s rights and understanding gender dimensions of democratic governance. UNDP and UNIFEM’s work on gender and democratic governance aims to enhance the effectiveness of women and men, particularly those in public office, in advancing a gender equality agenda.
