Africa and Japan have fostered a partnership through the Tokyo International Conference on African Development-TICAD for over 30 years, focusing on development, private sector investment, and Africa's growing potential. As African economies rise, STEM education and international collaborations have also flourished, providing more opportunities for youth and research.
Japan and Africa are increasing academic cooperation in fields like renewable energy, agriculture, and healthcare, addressing mutual development challenges and supporting economic growth. Hiroshima University’s partnership with the Pan-African University is a leading example.
The next AFRICONVERSE: Innovating Together: Shaping the Future of Japan-Africa Academic Collaboration, will explore the benefits of academic collaboration between Africa and Japan, examining successful partnerships and discussing how to expand them within the framework of TICAD9 to drive future growth and cooperation.
