Language shapes perspectives, sparks dialogue, and drives meaningful change. Join us for the launch of the Gender Dictionary, a transformative resource developed by UNDP West and Central Africa. This tool provides clear, standardized definitions of key terms related to gender inequality, tailored to the unique realities of this region.

This launch coincides with the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign dedicated to eliminating violence against women and girls. At UNDP, we remain steadfast in our commitment to advancing gender equality in partnership with countries and allies worldwide. Through initiatives such as:

  • Expanding care services in 80 countries to redistribute unpaid care work
  • Supporting 250 million women in accessing clean energy for productive uses
  • Empowering 1 million women to access and control digital assets
  • Aligning over $100 billion in financial systems to advance gender equality
  • Certifying 500 institutions and companies with the Gender Equality Seal
