Security Force Liaison Officers (SFLOs) Practical Guide

July 29, 2024

This Guide presents practical guidelines from the perspective of Security Force Liaison Officers (SFLOs) in carrying out their duties in stabilization programming. It is focused on aspects of SFLO work that have been identified as critical to the success of stabilization interventions from a conflict-sensitive approach. It has been developed to serve as a reference or checklist for SFLOs in consideration of the new phase of programming for the Lake Chad Basin and the recalibrated approach for the Liptako Gourma region. It identifies the key pillars of SFLO work that will ably support the new zonal model in stabilization programming - the zonal model moves from stabilizing individual communities/sites to developing networks of thriving and resilient communities.
