Institutional Effectiveness

Institutional Effectiveness Services

Results-Based Management

Within the context of UNDP’s evolving emphasis on implementing higher quality programmes as a key strategy to improve institutional effectiveness, our Results-based Manangement (RBM) Advisor supports Country Offices to improve project planning, design, quality assurance, and monitoring and evaluation, underpinned by sound results-based management. The RBM Advisor helps Country Offices to establish planning and monitoring practices to support evidence-based and results-oriented programming and provides advice for strengthening the RBM functions and capacities in Country Offices. In line with UNDP’s “One annual business plan,” the RBM Advisor helps ensure harmonization of country level plans with regional and corporate plans, to contribute to the Strategic Plan outputs prioritized for a given year.

Innovation

EG

For UNDP, innovation means reframing the issues we work on through uncovering user-focused insights, continually scanning the horizon for fresh thinking and new ideas, and often in parallel prototyping those in an effort to quickly and inexpensively figure out what works and what does not.  Our extended Innovation team, consisting of colleagues in the regional hub and in Country Offices around the region, provides Country Offices and their national partners technical advice, support, networking and encouragement in exploring new approaches to development such as design thinking, fore-sighting, and games for social change. The Innovation team also supports exploration into big data, alternative infrastructures for peace, and innovative forms of financing for development. Together, we are creating the next generation of public services and finding better ways to create impact for people and the planet, to strengthen resilience, and to build more inclusive societies.
