UNDP “Youth Employment” project, in close cooperation with the “Aren Mehrabyan” Foundation, has successfully concluded its "Matrix Gold and Web Design” 4-month training course aimed at empowering youth from the Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik regions of Armenia. The training course saw the participation of 72 young individuals, who were equipped with essential digital skills to enhance their employability in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.

Launched on June 1, 2024, the training offered a comprehensive curriculum that combined theoretical knowledge with practical application. Participants learned to create and manipulate 3D models, design websites using modern tools, and engage in hands-on projects that simulated real-world scenarios. The blended training format, which included both online and offline sessions, allowed for flexibility and accessibility.

The curriculum development process involved defining clear objectives, creating detailed lesson plans, and designing assessment methods to gauge participants’ progress. Feedback from participants indicated high satisfaction, with 93 percent rating the training as effective. Many expressed a desire for more practical exercises and opportunities to work on real projects, highlighting the importance of experiential learning.

To ensure ongoing support, the Foundation established local networks and knowledge-sharing platforms, encouraging participants to connect and collaborate post-training. The initiative not only equipped youth with skills in 3D modeling for jewelry production and web design but also facilitated job placement support, including practical sessions on resume and interview preparations. 

The "Matrix Gold and Web Design Training Course" is part of a broader effort by the UNDP “Youth Employment” Project to bridge the skills gap in Armenia’s regional labor markets, fostering a generation of qualified professionals ready to thrive in the high-tech sector. As these young people step into their careers, they carry with them not just knowledge, but also a network of support and a newfound sense of opportunity.

The "Unleashing Employment and Income Generating Opportunities for Youth in the Regions of Armenia" project is implemented by UNDP in Armenia. The project aims at supporting the fulfillment of the youth’s potential and well-being in the regions of Armenia through improved education opportunities, facilitated labor market transition, and entrepreneurship.
