About us

UNDP in Armenia was established in March 1993, and supports the government in meeting its development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Funding and delivery

The number and diversity of donors contributing to UNDP programmes confirms the confidence of the national government and the international and local community in our role as a partner of choice for sustainable development.

Legal framework

Accountability is the obligation to demonstrate that work has been conducted in accordance with agreed rules and standards and report fairly and accurately on performance results vis-à-vis mandated roles and/or plans.

UN in Armenia

The UN Country Team in Armenia is led by the UN Resident Coordinator and consists of 20 resident and non-resident agencies. The World Bank (WB), International Finance Corporation (IFC) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) also have offices in the country.

Armenia: MDG National Progress Report

This MDG Progress Report is the second status Report assessing the main trends and the current state of progress in achieving the MDGs.

A further refinement of the nationalized MDGs took place in this Progress Report to update and address the main challenges of the country more precisely. Some changes were made in the list of global MDGs targets and indicators, which called for corresponding changes in the National MDG Framework.

The report remarks on the main challenges in achieving the MDGs in the country and gives special attention to the impact of the current economic downturn on the further progress towards achieving the MDGs in the country.

In this regard, the Report contains a special chapter analyzing the post-crisis economic and fiscal situation in the country and discussing different scenarios for further development.
