Darko Pavlovic, Regional Project Manager
Darko has 18 years of professional experience on governance issues, specifically focusing on transparency and accountability. In his current role, Darko ensures effective management, administration, and monitoring of the project, advice and technical backstopping, support in resource mobilization and partnership building. Prior to working with the FairBiz project, Darko spent 3.5 years with UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub focusing on improving accountability and transparency in the climate finance programme and working with governments, parliaments, and civil society organizations across the Asia-Pacific region. He has worked with UNDP in Afghanistan, Serbia, Oslo Governance Centre, and New York managing anti-corruption projects and project evaluations. Prior to working for UNDP, Darko spent two years on Wall Street working as a currency analyst and two years in Belgrade District Court where he passed Serbian Bar Exam. He has earned Master’s Degrees from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and LLM from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
Tomas Kvedaras, Project Specialist
Tomas Kvedaras (Lithuania) joins FairBiz and JIN ASEAN teams from Jordan, where he had supported UNDP Governance and Peace Pillar in implementing various decentralisation, local development, government integrity and accountability-related programmes. From 2016 to 2019, he coordinated UN Volunteers Office in Amman and provided strategic guidance to the UNV Field Units in the Arab States, Europe and the CIS region.
Prior to joining the United Nations, he served as a diplomat in Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and EU’s External Action Service, including in missions to the UN Security Council and Afghanistan.
Tomas holds Master’s degrees in Diplomacy and International Economic Relations from the University of Nottingham and Corvinus University of Budapest.
Sara D’Anzeo, Business Engagement Specialist
Sara is an Italian-American professional that brings over 12 years of expertise in research and development in international trade both in the non-profit & private sector. Before joining UNDP, Sara covered regional and national managerial roles of commercial development in private multinationals in USA, Europe and South-East Asia. She also led the trade office of the Italian American Chamber of Commerce of Southeast USA where she developed many projects from inception to execution and contributed to fostering trade and development cooperation.
Sara is especially passionate about the themes of gender, inclusion, and sustainable practices.
She has a Master’s degree in Law from Macerata University, Italy with final thesis on Comparative Law completed at the University of Miami School of Law, Florida.
Stefano Pighin, Communication and Partnerships Officer
Stefano brings his business sector experience to the team. Prior to joining UNDP, Stefano worked for eight years in the events and exhibition industry in Italy, covering marketing, sales and communication positions, with a main focus on developing new trade exhibition projects. He also worked for Italian Chamber of Commerce Abroad network as project manager and trade consultant in Thailand and Australia, preparing and scheduling both the incoming business and political delegations. Stefano achieved a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from University of Udine and received a Scholarship to teach Italian language in Australia.
Pundaree Boonkerd, Project Management and Communications Associate
Pundaree has a 'split personality' when it comes to her work with the FairBiz project. On the project management front, she monitors the finances, working with Country Offices on their budget workplans. She spends the rest of her time on visual problem solving and graphic design.
A lover of arts and letters, Pundaree has a Master's in Italian language and literature from University of Bologna and a B.A. in English from Chulalongkorn University.
Saowalak Sangsomboon, Programme Associate
Information analysis to support administrative decision-making, programme management, procurement and developing strategic partnerships have been core areas of my professional experience within the UN system, the private sector and foreign diplomatic mission. Prior to this assignment, Saowalak worked with the UN Office for South-South Cooperation and facilitated the knowledge exchange as well as compiled best practices through the South-South Network for Public Service Innovation (SSN4PSI). During the assignment, Saowalak has earned experience in the area of e-governance where she can contribute to the team. Saowalak has also joined a private firm as a Demand Supply Planner and worked with the UN Humanitarian Agencies at UNOCHA and UNHCR.
Saowalak holds a Master’s degree in Global Supply Chain Management from Brunel University, London and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Thammasat University, Bangkok.
