
H.H. Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Honors Winners of the Bahraini Youth Day Commemorative Stamp Design Competition
His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, honored the winners of the commemorative postage stamp design competition launched in celebration of Bahraini Youth Day. The official award ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs to mark this important national occasion.
The competition results revealed Hessa Ghazi as the first-place winner, followed by Dalal Bumatia in second place, and Marwan Abdullah in third.
The winning design serves as a tribute to the boundless contributions of Bahraini youth to the nation’s path of development and prosperity. The stamp reflects the creative imprint of Bahraini youth and their ambitious vision for the country’s future. It also highlights the pioneering role of young Bahrainis in the Kingdom’s journey to space, particularly through the implementation and monitoring of the satellite "Al Munther," which represents a major achievement added to Bahrain’s record of success.

This national competition was a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Its aim was to showcase the creativity of Bahraini youth through designing a commemorative stamp that embodies their ambitious spirit and celebrates their achievements across various fields.
This initiative reflects the Ministry of Youth Affairs’ commitment to empowering Bahraini youth and involving them in global creative platforms, offering them opportunities to showcase their talents and contributions to strengthening national identity through designs that represent their aspirations and vision for the future of the nation.
In this context, H.E. Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, affirmed that issuing a special postage stamp to mark Bahraini Youth Day comes as part of the pioneering national initiatives to support and empower youth, as well as to develop their talents, knowledge, professional, and creative abilities. He noted that this stamp is not merely a commemorative symbol, but a documentation of the path of contributions and accomplishments achieved by Bahraini youth of both genders and a tribute to their pivotal role as active partners within "Team Bahrain" in supporting the comprehensive and sustainable development journey.
For her part, H.E. Ms. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, stated that the Bahraini Youth Day postage stamp offers a unique opportunity to highlight the contributions of Bahraini youth through a modern creative vision. She emphasized that engaging young people in designing this stamp reflects the Ministry’s interest in empowering them and encouraging them to express their ideas, contributing to strengthening their national identity and deepening their sense of belonging, in addition to showcasing their achievements on various platforms.
Ms. Asmaa Shalabi, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, affirmed that dedicating a postage stamp for Bahraini Youth Day reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting and empowering youth as part of the Sustainable Development Goals. She noted that this initiative highlights national efforts to empower youth and showcase their role in achieving comprehensive development, in line with the United Nations’ direction to support youth as a vital component in achieving sustainability and progress.
