Civic engagement in environmental monitoring and improving environmental management at the local level
What is the project about?
The project is aimed at efficient and inclusive environmental management at the local level, monitoring of environmental risks, environmental information exchange, in particular in the field of ambient air quality. The project prioritizes development of environmental monitoring, building the capacity of the civil society in environmental decision-making, development of “green schools”.
The project is the component of the programme “Strengthening Air Quality Monitoring and Environmental Management (SAQEM) in Belarus. The programme is funded by the EU (total budget is 14.5 million euro). The project is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus.
