The study researches the barriers women face in traditionally male dominated fields,
examines at what age gender differences emerge in education and career preferences and sampled teaching staff in order to examine gender stereotypes and the role they play in defining the education and career goals of pupils and students.

The results obtained can serve as the basis for designing intervention programmes aimed at narrowing the gender gap in the aforementioned fields of education and in terms of career choice.
