Through eight case studies drawn from Africa and Asia on energy and women, the report provides concrete examples of how improving poor women's access to affordable and clean energy services can act as an entry point to achieving multiple development objectives, including income and employment generation, poverty reduction, the empowerment of women and local and global environmental objectives.
