On December 11, 2024, the Taskforce on Inequality and Social-related Financial Disclosures (TISFD) hosted an interactive workshop at the Geneva International Conference Centre as part of this year’s Building Bridges Summit. The session brought together diverse stakeholders to refine the blueprint for the Taskforce's future action, contributing to its Extended Technical Recommendations set to be published in early 2025.

UNDP, as a Founding Partner with more than 20 organizations, launched the TISFD in September 2024, which aims to drive transformative change by helping businesses and financial institutions better understand and report on their social impacts, dependencies, risks, and opportunities (IDROs). As Kate Tallant Meier, Interim Executive Director of TISFD explained: “the Taskforce seeks to build economies and societies that are fairer and more resilient by developing a coherent, streamlined disclosure framework that supports standard setters in fostering global harmonization of reporting on people-related issues. This discussion at Building Bridges highlights the call from investors and sustainability leaders alike for recommendations that are simple, yet granular, to ultimately reduce the reporting burden on companies and enact true change.”

The Building Bridges workshop offered an opportunity to discuss TISFD’s foundational propositions, presented by its leadership and technical experts. Attendees engaged in group discussions, providing valuable feedback that will shape the Taskforce's extended technical recommendations to be published in early 2025.

The workshop also underscored TISFD’s commitment to inclusivity, inviting input from a broad audience, including businesses, financial institutions, civil society, policymakers, and international organizations.
