Advancing Sustainable Human Development in Hinterland, Poor, and Remote Communities
This project is dedicated to enhancing the sustainable human development of hinterland, poor, and remote communities, empowering them to achieve greater resilience and prosperity while contributing to the development of Guyana’s national green economy.
The initiative is strategically centered on three interconnected pillars:
Policy Development
By fostering inclusive and forward-looking policies, the project strengthens governance frameworks that address the unique needs of vulnerable communities. These policies promote equity, resilience, and sustainability, laying a solid foundation for long-term socio-economic progress.
Access
Improving access is a cornerstone of this initiative. The project enhances connectivity to Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and public services, ensuring that even the most remote communities have the tools and resources necessary to improve their quality of life and actively participate in national development.
Capacity Development
Recognising that people are at the heart of development, the project focuses on building the capacities of individuals and communities. Through targeted training, resources, and support; it fosters self-reliance, innovation, and leadership, enabling communities to take ownership of their development journey.
This project exemplifies a commitment to inclusive growth, good governance, and environmental sustainability. Empowering marginalised communities, it contributes to national prosperity and supports the realisation of a sustainable equitable future for all.
