UNDP publishes Public Pulse Brief #26

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Kosovo published the 26th edition of the Public Pulse Brief in a media conference held today.

The Public Pulse opinion poll highlights people’s perceptions on socio-economic, political, and security issues. The data for this Brief was collected from 17 April to 7 May, 2024, reflecting the opinion of over 1,306 respondents covering all thirty-eight municipalities, encompassing both urban and rural areas, and engaging all Kosovo communities.

Together with our partner and donor the European Union, we managed to start a Humanitarian Assistance Project (HAP) for humanitarian support to the most vulnerable groups in Kosovo in record time.

HOUSEHOLD BUILDING AND BUSINESS PREMISES DAMAGE ASSESSMENT

In support of the early recovery of the municipalities and communities affected by January floods, we joined efforts with the UNDP SURGE Data Hub to conduct a Household Building Damage Assessment (HBDA) and Business Premises Damage Assessment (BPDA) adjusted to Kosovo context. The results of the HBDA and BPDA are combined in a joint report which provides the central and local institutions, and development partners an overview of the impacts, enabling the design of early recovery plans.

MAPPING DATA COLLECTION FOR DEVELOPMENT/ ENHANCED INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITIES FOR DATA USE IN KOSOVO

This analysis draws a map of the data produced within central public institutions in Kosovo by analyzing all the public documents that these institutions share online. By assessing how data is shared among public institutions and used in policy-making processes, the assessment provides a basis for recommendations for increased and effective use, collection, and management of data by institutions in the long term.

young women

Since 2005, over 17,000 young women and men have benefitted from active labor market measures through on-the-job training, wage subsidy, as well as grants and advisory services to foster self-employment opportunities.

The solar panels installed at our premises will produce around 24% of our total electricity demand, saving approximately 36 tons of CO2 emissions per year and reducing UNDP Kosovo CO’s carbon footprint.

illegal weapons

UNDP contributed to security and safety of all its residents by destroying more than 10,000 illegal weapons and about 60,000 pieces of ammunitions of various calibers.

Throughout 20 years of Public Pulse, we interviewed over 63,798 people on their perceptions on economic, social and political situation in Kosovo and published 29 Kosovo Early Warning Reports, 21 Public Pulse Briefs, and 9 Public Pulse Analyses, in English, Albanian and Serbian.
