WESTERN TIAN-SHAN – 1 of 200 priority ecological regions, 1 of 34 global Biodiversity Hotspots, natural world heritage site. It combines the flora and fauna of the Himalayas and the Hindu Kush: through Pamir – with Siberia; through Dzungarian Alatau and Altai – with Mongolia. 2500 species of plants, of which 12% are endemic. 54 species of plants that are included in the Red Book. 400 species of animals, 27 are on the verge of extinction, including the snow leopard.
