Verónica Rojas Montes is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) and holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from the Ortega y Gasset University Institute in Spain. She also has a specialization in Ethics, Technology, and Public Policy from Stanford University. Verónica is a recognized international expert and researcher at the intersection of law, artificial intelligence, and ethics.
With over 20 years of professional experience, she has served her country in key roles such as Secretary-General, Chief of Staff, Deputy Secretary, and Director-General within Peru’s Executive Branch, including positions at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion, and the Ministry of Production, among others.
In the academic field, Verónica has been a professor at PUCP for over 20 years, where she leads the AI and Law Group and teaches Information Society. She has participated in drafting Peru’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, the Digital Rights Charter, and the country's AI regulatory framework.
She is an international speaker, co-author, and editor of the book "The Transformation of Law in the Digital Age" (2024), as well as several articles on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the metaverse.
Verónica works towards AI governance for the benefit of humanity, promoting ethics as a fundamental pillar in both the public and private sectors, and offering practical solutions to the challenges faced by policymakers and businesses.
