Digital Innovation Ecosystem
Map for the Green Economy (Green Map)

PROJECT OWNER: UNDP Trinidad and Tobago
In an increasingly sustainability-conscious world, Trinidad and Tobago has taken a significant step toward strengthening its green economy through an innovative digital mapping project. This initiative aims to identify and connect key players within the green innovation ecosystem, laying the foundation for sustainability-driven initiatives in the country.
Main Focus: Green Economy
The project focuses on promoting the green economy—a model that prioritizes the sustainable use of natural resources while fostering innovative solutions to environmental and social challenges.
Strategic Partners and Financial Support
This initiative is supported by Internal AccLab as the main donor and the Caribbean Industrial Research and Innovation Institute (CARIRI) as a key partner. Their expertise in research and innovation plays a vital role in ensuring the project’s success.
Timeline: A Work in Progress
Launched in January 2022, the project is ongoing, with continuous development and updates to the digital map.
Potential for Expansion and Sustainability
The mapping of the ecosystem not only has significant scale-up potential but is also envisioned as a permanent tool. To ensure its sustainability, it is essential to transfer the map’s management and production to a long-term partner capable of guaranteeing its continuity.
Challenges and Opportunities
While the potential for resource mobilization remains uncertain, the project presents an invaluable opportunity to scale and strengthen the green economy in Trinidad and Tobago.
Key Resources
The end result will be a comprehensive Green Innovation Ecosystem, which will help drive collaboration among key stakeholders and promote innovative and sustainable initiatives.
