Issue Brief: 5 key Business and Human Rights priorities for Malaysia’s recovery period

This Issue Brief discusses five key Business and Human Rights priorities for Malaysia as the country moves into the recovery period in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. While the business sector has been a key partner in the global response to COVID-19, there are also significant human rights risks that have emerged with civil society demanding more action to address the challenges faced by vulnerable communities. As Malaysia embarks on the development of the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights, it is crucial that these adverse impacts on society and the environment are assessed and mitigated, in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).
