The Government of Maldives and the United Nations in the Maldives convened the 3rd Oversight Committee and heard progress and way forward on the ongoing work on the Integrated National Finance Frameworks (INFF) in the Maldives.
Together UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA and WHO in the Maldives, are providing research and evidence needed to plan and overcome barriers to climate action and access to quality social sector services at the heart of national financing priorities.
Speaking at the 3rd INFF Oversight Committee meeting, UNDP Resident Representative in the Maldives Enrico Gaveglia re-affirmed UNDP Maldives’ leading service line of support to the Government of Maldives in efforts to harmonize climate finance and accelerate Agenda 2030.
“It is crucial that Integrated National Financing Frameworks investigates ways of attracting a new generation of resources towards domestic budget cycles and priorities.
Challenges faced by Maldives will not be resolved solely with public finance. UNDP Maldives will support the Government in formulating strategies and regulatory frameworks aiming to increase efficiency of existing domestic resources and unlock new financing opportunities to accelerate the pace towards Agenda 2030,” Enrico Gaveglia said.
