Maldives | February 17, 2025 – The 5th Steering Committee Meeting (SCM) for the project Developing a Sustainable Agricultural Economy in the Maldives (PDSAE) was recently held to review progress and launch new project activities aimed at advancing the country's agricultural sector.

With continued support from the Government of Japan, the PDSAE project has achieved key milestones, including:

  • GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) Training

  • Farm to Plate Initiative in Thoddoo

  • Launch of the Kumevi MSME Portal

  • The First AgriBoat Launch

These initiatives aim to improve food security, support sustainable agriculture, and empower local businesses.

The meeting also emphasized the critical collaboration between key partners, including:

  • Ministry of Economic Development and Trade

  • Ministry of Finance

  • Agro National Corporation

All are working together towards building a sustainable and resilient agricultural economy for the Maldives.
