2024/25 Budget Highlights for the Republic of Mauritius


The 2024-25 Mauritius National Budget includes ambitious measures to tackle climate change, conserve biodiversity, and control pollution, promoting corporate responsibility and sustainable practices. It emphasizes digital accessibility and innovation, offering zero percent loans for IT equipment, transitioning to electronic government publications, and integrating AI tools. Education is prioritized with free pre-primary and tertiary education, increased funding for special needs, and improved school infrastructure. Energy access and affordability are enhanced through Agri-voltaic and solar PV projects. Food security is addressed via grants and tax exemptions for farmers, breeders, and fishers. Gender equality and economic empowerment initiatives, along with expanded job opportunities and enhanced social protection, are also key focuses.
