Project Summary:
Building upon the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ aspirations to reinforce practice-oriented training, the project will seek to update training methodologies and programmes, develop capacities and knowledge of firearms instructors, introduce new learning technology and modernize the shooting training infrastructure of the institution to enable an environment for nurturing next-generation police professionals, equipped with skills, knowledge and competences compliant with the demand for modern-style policing.
The project interventions in the police training system should also contribute to improved quality of police services in Moldova. As a result, the general trust in the police system shall increase.
Objective:
- Foster a more effective, professional, and accountable police service by reinforcing national capacities and structures to provide skills-based training of law enforcement professionals in Moldova, in line with international best practices.
Expected results:
Capabilities of the "Ștefan cel Mare” Academy to deliver modern and professional police firearm training strengthened through:
- Modernized firearm training infrastructure;
- Enhanced capabilities for immersive firearms shooting training;
- Updated training programme, regulations, and qualification of training staff.
