On July 16, 2024, the foundation stone was laid for the rehabilitation of Manga Secondary School, a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to rebuild and strengthen the resilience of communities affected by Cyclones Idai and Kenneth. This initiative is part of the Mozambique Recovery Mechanism (MRF), implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the Post-Cyclone Reconstruction Office (GREPOC).

With an investment of 322,028,138.00 meticais, the works are expected to be completed by December 2025, benefiting more than 6,000 students. The project includes not only the rehabilitation of classrooms, a library, and administrative offices but also the creation of a proper sports facility, essential for promoting students' health and talent.
This event reinforced the importance of international cooperation for sustainable development and post-disaster recovery. The support of donors from the Basket Fund of the MRF Project was crucial in making this initiative possible, which include the European Union, Canada, Finland, the Netherlands, India, China, and Norway, in addition to funds from UNDP itself.
