UNDP Deputy Resident Representative

Mr. Julien Chevillard (France) is the Deputy Resident Representative for UNDP Nepal.

Prior to this appointment, Julien was the Chief Technical Adviser (2019-2023), and Trust Fund Administrator (2012-2019) for the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance programme with UNDP Cambodia, supporting the integration of climate change in national policies and budgets, managing a facility for innovative climate change projects and promoting access to green financing instruments. He also acted as project manager for UNDP Myanmar’s Digital Transformation portfolio from April to July 2023.

He was an Aid Management Specialist with UNDP Nepal from 2010 to 2012, based in the Foreign Aid Coordination Division, Ministry of Finance. From 2009 to 2010, he worked with UNDP Madagascar, advising the Permanent Secretariat for Aid Coordination at the Office of the Prime Minister. From 2007 to 2009, he was an Aid Effectiveness Specialist, for the UNDP sub-regional office for West and Central Africa. He started his career with the United Nations in 2002 as a special assistant to the UN Resident Coordinator in Cambodia, where he then managed the mine action and aid effectiveness portfolios for UNDP (2003-2006).

Julien holds a Masters Degree in International Administration from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (France) and a Master of Arts in International Conflict Analysis from the University of Kent (UK). He is a graduate of the Institut d’Études Politiques (Lille, France).
