This document captures the key achievements from 2015-2017 of the Universal Coverage of Long-Lasting Insecticidal Bed Nets (LLINs) in Vanutatu Programme. The programme supported the National Malaria Programme by providing replacement LLINs and strengthening monitoring and supervision.
By the end of 2017, 237,944 LLINs were distributed to households and schools throughout the country, and the capacity of the health sector was strengthened to ensure long-term sustainability, including improved financial and risk management, procurement systems for health commodities, monitoring and evaluation, training and health governance mechanisms.
The programme was supported by the Global Fund with UNDP serving as the Principal Recipient, the Ministry of Health of Vanuatu as the sole Sub-Recipient, and the World Health Organization providing technical assistance.
