In collaboration with the ITU Academy, UNCDF and UNDP, on April 19 2022, the Leadership Academy of Guinea-Bissau held the first session of a four-week distance learning course on inclusive digital transformation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the SAMOA Pathway in the Small Island Developing States (SIDS). The session was attended by 15 public servants, including 6 women.
The training focused on the essential elements of a comprehensive digital transformation framework for the government and society as a whole, and how it can foster progress towards acheiving the SDGs.
During the four-weeks programme, trainees will have the opportunity to strengthen their digital skills. This is particularly important to face the challenges imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which is increasing the demand for digital solutions for the government, including the design of a national digital strategy to ensure that the benefits of digital transformation are inclusive - and that no one is left behind.
