The LEAD initiative supports institutional, legislative, and societal changes that safeguard minority rights, combat discrimination that shadows Georgia’s society and create a collaboration platform for public agencies, civil society organizations and international partners. The three-year-long project (2022-2025) draws on US$4 million in funding from Norway.
what we do
The LEAD project implements a three-fold approach to protecting the human rights of vulnerable communities in Georgia:
- Empowering Minorities. We work with ethnic and religious minorities and LGBTQI+ communities strengthening and promoting human rights protection and combating discrimination.
- Working on the most challenging human rights issues. Through evidence-based campaigns, we boost social transformation and advocate for the protection of minority rights.
- Supporting state institutions and civil society organizations. We work with civil society and state institutions to accelerate the structural transformation toward institutional democracy by enhancing citizen- and human rights-centric governance systems.
