In support of the Government of the State of Eritrea’s nature-based sustainable development strategy, UNDP provides technical and financial support in the area of environment, energy, climate change, climate adaptation, disaster risk management, food security, and natural resources management.  UNDP promotes capacity building of individuals and communities at national and regional levels; integrates gender-responsive and disaster risk reduction considerations into existing institutional frameworks and small-holder farming development planning to mitigate the impact of disasters and climate change. UNDP also collaboratively works with the government to extend renewable energy to a wider population and expand productive climate-smart agriculture in the country.
