    📌 January 27, 2024, Saturday

    ⏰ 10:00-12:30 with lunch buffet

📍 Novotel Hotel, 16 Manas Avenue, Bishkek

Join us on January 27, 2024, at Novotel Hotel for the “STEM4ALL AWARD 2024” ceremony recognizing the achievements of participants of the "STEM4ALL x Mentoring Her" and "STEM4ALL Community" projects. This event marks the culmination of the STEM4ALL mentorship project, initiated by the UN Development Program in Kyrgyzstan, with generous support from the Government of Japan under the Digital x program. The project was implemented by the Roza Otunbaeva Initiative Foundation, aiming to foster the participation of girls and women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.

The “STEM4ALL x Mentoring Her” addresses challenges faced by women in STEM by focusing on soft skills development, networking opportunities, and creating a strong support system. It aims to identify the work-life balance crucial for successful careers in technology, science, and innovation.

The project successfully engaged 320 mentees and 251 mentors to advance women's leadership in STEM. The project included lectures on key principles and strategies for successful leadership, providing mentees with insights into Time Management, Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Critical Thinking, and Financial Literacy. Mentors and mentees engaged in valuable one-on-one conversations, facilitating the effective exchange of experiences and knowledge. Participants developed their development roadmaps, outlining key steps toward achieving their professional goals.

A key achievement of the project was to provide participants with access to stem4allmentoringher.com, an experimental digital platform powered by artificial intelligence that automatically matches mentors and mentees online, offering new learning and development opportunities. The pilot project will continue on this platform with the active support of the Roza Otunbaeva Initiative Foundation.

Additionally, all STEM4ALL partner organisations are invited to the "STEM4ALL Award 2024" to showcase best practices in promoting STEM and to highlight the collaborative partnerships between different stakeholders in Kyrgyzstan. Background Information:

The World Economic Forum predicts that more than 90% of future jobs will demand digital skills. However, in Kyrgyzstan, gender stereotypes and restricted access to resources contribute to women representing only 31.1% of STEM graduates. Our objective is to transform this landscape by providing girls and women with the tools and support necessary for success in STEM careers.

About the “STEM4ALL x Mentoring Her” Project:

In response to the insights from the UNDP Kyrgyzstan's report, "Needs Assessment of STEM Women in Kyrgyzstan" (2023), the STEM4ALL x Mentoring Her project is launched by UNDP and executed by the Roza Otunbaeva Initiative International Public Foundation. This initiative is part of the Digital x Scale Accelerator program, generously funded by the Government of Japan and the United Nations Development Program. Focused on addressing the challenges faced by girls and women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields, the project facilitates connections between industry and community leaders, providing mentoring support to promote personal and professional growth. STEM4ALL empowers women for success in the rapidly evolving industries of the future. For more details on UNDP's #STEM4ALL activities in Kyrgyzstan, please visit this link.

About the Digital Mentorship Platform (www.stem4allmentoringher.com):

The platform is a collaborative effort between Mentoring Her and UNDP in Kyrgyzstan, developed under the Digital x program. This program, initiated by UNDP's Chief Digital Office and Global Policy Network with the support of the Government of Japan, aims to scale digital solutions globally, emphasizing joint efforts and shared commitment to promote digital innovation.

The creation of the STEM4ALL x Mentoring Her digital platform, in partnership with the international technical partner Mentoring Her, a women-led company, signifies a significant advancement in connecting emerging professionals with experienced STEM leaders. This platform utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning to efficiently connect mentors and mentees.

    About the “STEM4ALL Community”:

The "Community of Practices" was established to unite local communities in a regional network to address the needs of women working in STEM fields in Kyrgyzstan. From its inception with 32 organizations in 2022, the community has expanded to over 80 organizations in 2023, all dedicated to promoting gender parity in STEM. UNDP Kyrgyzstan adopts a strategic approach to facilitate community-based partnerships with STEM stakeholders, resulting in ten joint initiatives among partners. By the end of 2023, a STEM4ALL community partnership strategy has been developed.

"STEM4ALL Award 2024" provides an opportunity to showcase best practices and emphasize the collaborative efforts of different stakeholders in the STEM4ALL community.
