UNDP partners collaborate on Jamaica's Climate Promise video feature

Public Education Programme launches World Environment Day

June 5, 2024

A new video feature outlining key commitments in Jamaica's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) under the Paris Agreement has been launched on World Environment Day, Wednesday 5 June 2024, by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Multi Country Office in Jamaica.

The five-minute video feature shot on location in Jamaica, features officials from the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, its Climate Change Division, the Forestry Department, and the National Water Commission. They take turns declaring key promises outlined in Jamaica's NDCs and for which their respective agencies hold lead responsibility.

Jamaica's key commitments in Clean Energy, Energy efficiency, Sustainable water management and distribution, and traffic emissions are spotlighted, along with a role for the public featuring random Jamaicans interviewed on the streets of Kingston.

The feature premiered on two national stations and UNDP's social media accounts.
