Italy partners with UNDP to tackle root causes of global development challenges

New York—The Government of Italy has contributed EUR 5 million (USD 5,4 million) in regular (core) resources to UNDP for 2024. This support is crucial in advancing sustainable development worldwide, and UNDP thanks Italy for its support and trust in its work and mission.

Core resources from Italy and other partners form the foundation that sustains UNDP’s operations. This support is crucial in maintaining UNDP’s presence in over 170 countries and responding swiftly to crises. ​ Italy’s and other core partners’ support underpins UNDP’s ability to help countries advance their national development plans, making them an integral part of UNDP’s mission.

In addition, core contributions help strengthen UNDP’s oversight and accountability functions and ensure that programmes are delivered effectively and efficiently in accordance with the highest standards of transparency. UNDP is consistently rated among the most transparent international organizations.
