On July 19-20, 2024, the UNDP-GCF "De-risking and Scaling-up Investment in Energy Efficient Building Retrofits" project, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment of Armenia and the Environmental Project Implementation Unit (EPIU), hosted an insightful media tour to the cities of Spitak, Stepanavan, and Dilijan.

This tour showcased the incredible impact of energy-efficient retrofits on residential buildings. Journalists experienced firsthand how these retrofits are transforming communities by:

🔋Reducing energy consumption

🌱Lowering greenhouse gas emissions

💡Decreasing energy poverty

💰Providing economic benefits

🏡Enhancing the quality of life

Natia Natsvlishvili, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia, highlighted the importance of this initiative: "Our partnership with the Green Climate Fund and the Ministry of Environment is driving significant progress in Armenia's efforts to enhance energy efficiency. By co-financing building retrofits, we're not only reducing environmental impact but also improving living conditions and lowering energy bills for residents."

This project is a shining example of how collaboration between the government, communities, and international organizations can lead to sustainable and resilient livelihoods.
