The UN country team in Trinidad and Tobago was happy to welcome and listen to insights from the distinguished President of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Dennis Francis, to our offices on Monday, 5th August.

This was his first visit to Trinidad and Tobago since being elevated to the role. His visit underscores our commitment to building a resilient and equitable future for all.

He also used his visit to a roundtable discussion on #ChooseSustainability: Building Resilient and Prosperous Societies, which delved into the vital role of the General Assembly and its support for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) amidst a polarized multilateral landscape.

The visit to Port of Spain also saw him exchanging views with the leadership of Trinidad and Tobago on the state of multilateralism and, among others, ongoing preparations for the Summit of the Future and the High-Level Meeting on sea-level rise, both in September.
