This November, Lviv will host the “Tech4Life: Innovative Assistive Technologies for Life and Work” congress – a landmark international event showcasing the latest in assistive technology, or AT. Experts, developers, and manufacturers from around the globe will gather to demonstrate how these technologies are improving the lives of people with disabilities –particularly those impacted by the war in Ukraine.

The event, organized by UNDP in Ukraine with the financial support of the government of the Netherlands, will also be attended by representatives of the government institutions responsible for the legislative framework and allocation of state financial resources for purchase of these crucial innovations.

Assistive Technologies are not just tools – they are lifelines. From advanced mobility aids to communication devices and workplace adaptations, ATs are unlocking new possibilities for independence, education, and employment. These technologies have the power to break down barriers and open doors for those who need it most. Tech4Life will demonstrate how these innovations are reshaping the lives of people with disabilities, particularly those whose lives have been affected by the war in Ukraine.

Background

The Tech4Life International Congress is being organized by UNDP a part of the "Mine Action Project in Ukraine" with the financial support of the Government of the Netherlands. By bringing together AT manufacturers, healthcare, rehabilitation and social service professionals, rehabilitation specialists, academic institutions and research centers representatives, government officials, businesses, and people with disabilities, the TECH4Life Congress aims to highlight the transformative role technology plays in overcoming the challenges of war and fostering inclusion.
