Short film scripts competition on preventing and combating corruption

The joint project of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the UNDP Uzbekistan “Strengthening the National Anti-Corruption Ecosystem in Uzbekistan”, funded by the European Union, is pleased to announce a competition for short film scripts focused on preventing and combating corruption.

Purpose: The competition aims to raise public awareness and foster a culture of intolerance towards corruption by engaging creative youth and artists in developing short film scripts.

Key Objectives:
- To involve young authors, screenwriters, bloggers, journalists, and other representatives of creative professions in producing socially impactful work;
- To provide participants with the opportunity to improve their skills through master classes on screenwriting and methods of visualizing ideas;
- To support the creation and promotion of films through broadcasts on various platforms, media outlets, anti-corruption events, and international film festivals;
- To foster an environment for participants to exchange ideas and experiences, helping to strengthen cultural and social ties within the country;
- To increase the public trust in government institutions and law enforcement agencies by showcasing their transparency and commitment to fighting corruption.

What the Competition Offers:

  • Masterclasses for participants on the fundamentals of screenwriting and idea development.
  • Grants for the winners to produce short films based on their scripts.

Who Can Participate:

Journalists, bloggers, aspiring screenwriters (those without formal bachelor's degrees in screenwriting), authors, and anyone interested in filmmaking who wants to contribute to the fight against corruption through creative work.
Please note: Jury members, organizers, sponsors, and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.

Requirements:

  • Must be a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
  • Applicants are responsible for submitting the application, including a brief synopsis (up to 300 words) and a full script.
  • Scripts must be original, unpublished, and not previously entered into other competitions or projects.
  • Each participant can submit only one script.
  • Scripts are accepted in Russian or Uzbek.
  • The final films should be between 5 and 10 minutes in length.

2. Fill out the online application, including personal details, a brief synopsis of the script, and all necessary documents.
