This Development Finance Assessment (DFA) presents a review of the Malaysian financial landscape covering domestic and international public and private financial flows, as well as policy, institutional, capacity and risk management dimensions. This report introduces (Chapter 1) the context within which the DFA has been undertaken, as well as outlining the macroeconomic and fiscal context (Chapter 2), and the assessment and diagnostic (Chapter 3) of various development finance flows relevant to Malaysia.

This report should be read together with the “Recommendations for an Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF)” report, which focuses on making recommendations for the implementation of an integrated national financing framework by describing right-financing approaches for different sustainable development needs and priorities, financing instruments, as well as monitoring and governance structure.
