Insider Mediation is a peacebuilding approach that empowers trusted local individuals to prevent, mediate and resolve conflicts within their communities. These individuals, known as Insider Mediators, derive their credibility and influence from their strong relations with the conflict parties and their deep understanding of local dynamics. Their efforts are instrumental in fostering behavioural and attitude changes that prevent conflict and sustain peace. Insider mediators can be teachers, religious figures, young influencers, artists, shopkeepers and other members of communities who have an influence on impacting others.
