6. No One Left Behind 

UNDP’s commitment to ‘leave no one behind’ has shaped many aspects of the Maldives’ growth, especially initiatives linked to poverty reduction targeting those most in need. UNDP's poverty reduction program trained local community-based organizations in project design and management, promoting decentralized governance and bottom-up planning. It also included providing essential supplies and improving water systems, with a project to ensure a safe water supply for 49 islands, benefiting 105,000 people affected by climate change.
