From 2700 applications, 140 outstanding students representing 34 countries and 32 universities were selected, forming a truly global cohort for this transformative climate leadership journey.
The selected delegates underwent an intensive two-week capacity-building program, led by seasoned professionals from top global academic institutions and organizations. The program enhanced participants climate literacy, deepened their understanding of international climate action, and equipped them with critical skills in diplomacy, debate, and conflict resolution. During the COP28 Mock Conference, students assumed roles as country delegates, chief negotiators, and non-state actors, navigating complex negotiations that resulted in the COP28 Simulation Declaration. Their work culminated at COP28 in Dubai, where 25 participants presented the declaration and shared their experiences across three sessions in the Blue and Green Zones.
