UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Africa (RBA) is pleased to invite you to the launch of the report on 'Advancing Inclusive Development: Policy options for Burkina Faso, Guinea, Gabon, Mali and Niger'. This report is an innovative, collaborative venture between the African Union-UNDP's Africa Facility to Support Inclusive Transitions (AFSIT) and African Futures at the Institute for Security Studies (ISS).
Recent years have witnessed a resurgence of coups and other forms of Unconstitutional Changes of Government (UCG) in Africa. This has placed strain on regional cooperation and integration agendas, especially in West Africa. The Advancing Inclusive Development report seeks to transcend these political challenges, with a focus on immediate, medium and long-term development opportunities. This report aims to equip policymakers, development practitioners and experts with a deeper understanding of how to achieve development gains in complex political transition contexts and explores the role of development as a strategic pathway to promote inclusive governance and bolster democratic resilience.
Following the launch of this report, we would like to invite you to join us in celebrating some of the successes and insights of the #IAMSahel Campaign. This will be an immersive presentation of data and storytelling, highlighting the possibilities and promise of the region, amplifying the voices of the creative, innovative and resilient youth of the Sahel.
