In line with the parliamentary Women and Child Committee’s objectives to enhance information sharing, transparency, and community engagement, UNDP has provided crucial technical support to develop the committee’s first comprehensive report on its contributions to gender-responsive legislation and the promotion of gender equality in Lebanon. Titled “First Review for the Action Strategy of the Parliamentary Women and Children’s Committee: ‘Protection and Empowerment,’ the report serves as a strategic tool for monitoring the committee’s work, identifying challenges, and fostering evidence-based decision-making for gender legislative reforms. It includes a catalogue of proposed laws and policies referred to the committee for deliberation and highlights the committee's strategic vision for its remaining mandate, with a focus on advancing gender equality and safeguarding children's rights.
