The Project Board of the EU Flood Recovery Support Project meeting on 03 April 2025
Sarajevo, 03 April 2025
Communities, families, farmers and other private stakeholders affected by the Floods in October 2024 will soon receive assistance through the EU funded floods recovery project, worth 20 million. The first public call for housing assistance received 334 applications from flood-affected households. The verification process is underway, and preliminary results will be published by the end of April, with clear instructions on the next steps for selected beneficiaries.
A new public call will be launched on 7 April to help farmers recover from losses and restore their livelihoods. The new call will enable agricultural households in the affected areas to get access to fair and transparent assistance to rebuild their production.
More details and application information will be available as of 7 April at offices of participating municipalities and cities, their websites, as well as the websites of UNDP BiH (www.ba.undp.org) and IOM BiH (https://bih.iom.int).
The Project Board of the EU Flood Recovery Support Project, which includes representatives from the affected municipalities, the state, entity and cantonal institutions, met today to review the progress and ensure that recovery efforts meet the real needs of the affected local communities.
The recovery activities are carried out in close partnership with local authorities from Drvar, Jablanica, Konjic, Kreševo, Kiseljak, Fojnica, Vareš and Mostar, underscoring a shared commitment to a coordinated, locally led recovery. Local governments are involved in every aspect of the project, from identifying priorities to selecting beneficiaries and overseeing implementation, ensuring that assistance reflects real needs and is delivered transparently.
The EU Flood Recovery Support Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina is funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
