Climate Security Risk Assessment Profiles
November 10, 2022
The preliminary high-level summaries Climate Security Risk Assessment Profiles for Tuvalu, Kiribati and the Republic of the Marshall Islands aim to improve the understanding of national climate-related security risks and to guide national, regional, and international partners in their efforts to respond to climate-related security challenges.
The preliminary high-level summaries outline the key findings and priorities to be addressed in Pacific atoll nations in relation to the security implications of climate change.
The final report will be available in January 2023 to support the governments and their partners to better prepare for and respond to climate security challenges through informed decision-making.
The Climate Security Risk Assessment Profiles were commissioned by the UNDP-IOM Climate Security in the Pacific project, in close collaboration with the Governments of the three countries, and funded by the UN Peace Building Fund.
