UNDP Pacific Engages in Strategic Meetings to Strengthen Partnerships and Drive Development in Kiribati

UNDP Pacific Office in Fiji Resident Representative Munkhtuya Altangerel, together with Deputy Resident Representative Kevin Petrini, recently held a series of high-level meetings and courtesy visits with key stakeholders in Kiribati to reinforce partnerships and explore new opportunities for sustainable development in the country. These engagements highlighted UNDP's commitment to addressing critical issues and fostering collaboration to drive progress in various sectors.
A key initiative of this mission was the introduction of a Capacity Development Investment Plan (CIP), designed to support Ministries in the Government of Kiribati in technical, procurement, and administrative capacities critical for revitalizing project activities.
In discussions with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Energy), and the Office of Beretitenti, the CIP, which includes a US$150,000 budget to bridge management gaps, received positive responses for further action.
UNDP's engagements underscored the importance of partnerships to drive sustainable development initiatives in Kiribati.
