UNDP and CHÔRA Foundation collaborate to develop cutting-edge policy advisory services

New York, The UN Development Programme (UNDP) and CHÔRA Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen development programs, with the aim of developing cutting-edge advisory and policy services to offer to government counterparts.

The partnership will provide policymakers with capabilities to identify strategic options to tackle complex development issues through a distinctive approach to develop portfolios of options.

As part of the Memorandum, UNDP and CHÔRA Foundation will work together to strengthen competencies within the organization and that of partners to address the need on the ground. The partnership will help establish an innovative space that offers governments, civil society and communities a transformational capability to seek, attract and engage other institutional and organizational entities.

 

At UNDP we are shifting our approach to designing development policy by focusing on system transformation because the urgency of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals requires this type of ambition.

Haoliang Xu, UN Assistant Secretary General and Director of UNDP’s Bureau for Policy and Programme Support stated, “At UNDP we are shifting our approach to designing development policy by focusing on system transformation because the urgency of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals requires this type of ambition. As COVID-19 has shown, it is time to rethink the way policies are designed and implemented, and through our partnership with CHÔRA, we want to introduce innovations and strengthen the capacities of our partners”.
